Wonderful Holiday Traffic

What an event, driving around the island on a Saturday afternoon just before Christmas. No, I wasn't out showing St. Thomas Real Estate for sale. I wasn't heading to the wonderful Virgin Island beaches. I was simply going to the store in Tutu to get supplies for a vacation rental guest. And what a time it was.

So I drove through the KMart parking lot. I didn't see more than a small handful of parking spaces, and this stretched all the way to the Innovative building. I have never seen the lot so full. I finally made it all the way over the Plaza Extra (which was difficult enough even though they share the same large parking lot), and was able to secure a parking spot after minimal searching. The store wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but once trying to get back out to the main road, it took me ten minutes just to get past McDonalds.

What is it that causes so many cars to be on the road at one time. More importantly, what is in the air that causes people to drive like such morons? I thought I was caught in a Driver's Education Parade.

Here's to avoiding this fiasco next year- the planning starts now.
