Where Should I Buy on the Island

Every morning, as I walk outside and take in the view (while the dogs are pesturing me to take them on a walk), I know that I love the location of my home. The down island views are incredible, and the breezes are a huge bonus. But not everyone has the same tastes.

This realization, and truth, crept in my brain recently. I was working with a customer that had spent time in the Bahamas and was used to a high elevation of about fifteen feet. Well, that certainly changes things, not only in the landscape you are looking at, but also in the perception of what you see. So the immediate reaction when we started seeing some of the views was amazement.

The first place we looked was close to the water. Not a place I think of as great views, but not bad either. But this customer was amazed. Then things only got better.

As we moved to the higher elevations, the views got even better and better. Of course, we saved the pristine properties for last, so he was never able to get accustomed to how great the views really can be.

But you know, despite views from the hills, there are still those that prefer to be closer to the water. Or on flatter land. Or on larger acreage. Or closer to the beach. There are just too many factors to consider, and view won't always trump the others. But one thing is for sure- I love a great view and wouldn't trade it for anything. It is sure to put a smile on my face everyday.
