Sailing Revisited

I used to live on a sailboat. Not briefly, I am talking about a period of nearly ten years. It sure is a different lifestyle, and at this point, I have grown very accustomed to being a land dweller. But I also admit a slight addiction to YACHTWORLD and dreams of owning a larger sailboat again at some point in my life.

But things were shaken up a little over the weekend, thanks to my friends Travis and Rose Lindberg. They own a large catamaran called PENTESILEA, upon which they do term charters.

Travis and Rose were nice enough to invite us, along with two other couples, for a quick weekend getaway. I knew the second after the invitation that we would absolutely love it, and I had been looking forward to this trip for over a month. To say I was counting down the days is an understatement. Well, everything was even more enjoyable than I could have guessed, and it really has put the ocean bug back in my sails.

There is something special about living on the water, almost like it puts you closer to nature. Maybe it is the movement on the water. Maybe it is how acute your senses become towards even the slightest changes in wind speed and direction. Who knows. But it is a really nice feeling.

Many people that read these blogs are here because of real estate. And I certainly do not intend to talk you into buying a boat instead of a home or condo. But if you are interested in trying something new, or revisiting a past experience with a boat charter, I can't recommend a nicer boat and/or more capable and enjoyable crew than Travis and Rose.
