McDonald's Milkshakes

McDonald Milkshakes – True Story

There are many things you have to learn to live without if you chose to move to the Virgin Islands.
As crazy as it sounds, one of them is the lack of McDonald’s Milkshakes. This one small thing makes Kirk completely INSANE.

I’ve lived on St. Thomas for 12 years, Kirk has lived here on and off for about 18 years. EACH time we go to McDonalds, we order a chocolate milkshake and EACH time, the machine is broken, and we are unable to complete our order.

Kirk and I talk about this at length. What is preventing all three McDonald’s restaurants on St. Thomas from fixing all three of the milkshake machines? Are they so old, they no longer make the parts? Did the milkshake -aintenance person leave the island leaving no one properly trained o handle this unique equipment? Did aliens steal the parts for their spaceship? Is there really no one who will take matters into their own hands? How many times a day must the employees say the machine is broken aren’t they tired of this? Are they out of the mixture that makes these delicious decadent heavenly shakes that complete a perfect meal? Or is the machine really broken? Are they just too lazy and unconcerned about the needs of their customers? Are we really in the third world as evidenced by NO MILKSHAKES AT MCDONALDS????? What is the world coming to?

So, if you really want a milkshake, you will have to go to Wendy’s and get a Frosty, yes they do have Frosty’s at least each time I’ve been there they have them. Or go to Udder Delight on the way to Magen’s Bay – you can even get a shot of liquor in it (these are my most favorite – liquor free). But don’t say I didn’t warn you if you end up craving a milkshake and wind up with a McDonald’s employee telling you the machine is broken.

And don’t even ask about Kentucky Fried Chicken. All I’m going to say is……….. if they tell you they are out of chicken, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
